

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education)
B.Ed. or Bachelor of Education is a two-year professional course that is done after graduation to work as a teacher in schools. According to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), all teachers must have a B.Ed. Course for Elementary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary Schools in India.
DESCRIPTION OF COURSE
As per the UGC guidelines, students will follow the course prescribed by the NCTE & Jai Prakash University, Chapra for a 2-year B.Ed. Course as and when notified as such:
>> In the 1st Year course, there are 7 Papers (C1 to C7a) and 3 EPC Papers (EPC I, II, III). Total marks in the 1st year are 650 out of 520 which is Theory, and 130 marks in Practicum.
>> Similarly, in the 2nd year, the total marks are 650 which contain 6 Papers (C7b to C11 and EPC IV). Most of the focus in 2nd year goes on to the School Internship (16 Weeks) which has 250 marks. One Optional paper is mandatory this year.
